We relocated from Pittsburgh, PA to Orlando, FL and were very satisfied with the service. The movers stayed professional throughout the move and made sure all of our belongings arrived safely.
I had just accepted a new job opportunity that required me to move from Dallas, Texas to Nashville, Tennessee. With a tight deadline and no time to pack myself, I turned to America First Moving. They scheduled everything quickly, packed my entire apartment in half a day, and arrived exactly when they said they would. The movers even helped me set up my living room before leaving. It made my first week in a new city so much easier.
We relocated from Winter Park, Florida to Cary, North Carolina for better schools and more space. America First Moving handled our four bedroom home efficiently and kept everything on schedule. The team was respectful and clearly experienced with long distance family moves.
America First is a moving broker. They contract with local moving companies to do the actual move. The initial phone quote was $8500 (paperwork sent confirming price). Since this was my fourth quote it lined up with the other three quotes I rec'd. But, when the inventory list was done, the price went to $13,000. They did lower it to $11,587 (which was still extremely high). I had no time to change my moving company. The main person I communicated with was the driver. His command of the English language was poor. The packers could not speak or understand English. The following items were damaged or destroyed: 1) Molding on the hutch was damaged, 2) broken pictures / glass frames, 3) clothes were not hung in wardrobes, they were folded and stacked until there was no more room. Could not reach the bottom of the box and the box was too heavy for me to tip over so I could empty it. 4) wrapped candles in two sets of sheets and the red dye permanently stained and ruined the sheets, 5) salad crisper destroyed, 6) broke glass globe stand, 6) broke standing light stand, 7) sleep # mattress was not wrapped correctly so it does not operate correctly. Will cost me $290 just to have a representative to evaluate the damage. Finally, when I sent my letter, with pictures of all the damaged/broken items, they said they could compensate me $100. At that point, I knew there was no need to speak to them any further. DO NOT USE THSE PEOPLE. They are scammers!
I recently moved from Tampa, Florida to Charlotte, North Carolina, and America First Moving made the entire process a breeze. They coordinated everything ahead of time, showed up with a full crew, and handled my 3-bedroom home like true pros. Nothing was damaged and they delivered right on schedule. I’d absolutely recommend them for any long-distance move.
Only after money, will increase bid by more than $1,000.00. Shows up late by several hours or puts off till next day. Movers smelled like weed. Boxes crushed. Mentioned tip 9 times while unloading. Worst broker in business. They have snotty customer service, who doesn't care. I'm sure they get yelled at a lot, with the service they provide. Buyer be ware.
