Experience with AFM / My Good Movers
My experience with the American First Moving website was overall straightforward but not without minor frustrations. The site is cleanly designed, making it easy to locate essential information about services, pricing, and booking. Navigation felt intuitive, and pages loaded quickly, which made the process efficient. However, some sections lacked detailed explanations, leaving me with questions about specific policies and fees. The quote request feature worked well, but I would have appreciated more transparency upfront. Customer support options were visible, though not immediately responsive. Overall, the website is functional and user-friendly, but could benefit from clearer information and improved communication features. While using My Good Movers source I feel like it’s helpful to the community & easy to use.

Friendly and Hardworking Crew
We relocated from Pittsburgh, PA to Orlando, FL and the entire experience felt very well organized. The movers were respectful, worked efficiently, and made sure nothing was damaged.

Miami to Richmond Move
America First Moving took care of my relocation from Miami, FL to Richmond, VA. I had a smaller 2-bedroom condo, but I was nervous about my large TV, artwork, and computer equipment. The movers packed everything with precision and used extra padding where needed. They were also very respectful of my building rules and coordinated with the condo manager so everything went smoothly on moving day. I truly felt like they went the extra mile to make the experience stress-free.

Moving Review
America First is a moving broker. They contract with local moving companies to do the actual move. The initial phone quote was $8500 (paperwork sent confirming price). Since this was my fourth quote it lined up with the other three quotes I rec'd. But, when the inventory list was done, the price went to $13,000. They did lower it to $11,587 (which was still extremely high). I had no time to change my moving company. The main person I communicated with was the driver. His command of the English language was poor. The packers could not speak or understand English. The following items were damaged or destroyed: 1) Molding on the hutch was damaged, 2) broken pictures / glass frames, 3) clothes were not hung in wardrobes, they were folded and stacked until there was no more room. Could not reach the bottom of the box and the box was too heavy for me to tip over so I could empty it. 4) wrapped candles in two sets of sheets and the red dye permanently stained and ruined the sheets, 5) salad crisper destroyed, 6) broke glass globe stand, 6) broke standing light stand, 7) sleep # mattress was not wrapped correctly so it does not operate correctly. Will cost me $290 just to have a representative to evaluate the damage. Finally, when I sent my letter, with pictures of all the damaged/broken items, they said they could compensate me $100. At that point, I knew there was no need to speak to them any further. DO NOT USE THSE PEOPLE. They are scammers!

Please don't use them
Only after money, will increase bid by more than $1,000.00. Shows up late by several hours or puts off till next day. Movers smelled like weed. Boxes crushed. Mentioned tip 9 times while unloading. Worst broker in business. They have snotty customer service, who doesn't care. I'm sure they get yelled at a lot, with the service they provide. Buyer be ware.

From the Midwest to the Sunshine State
After years in Columbus, Ohio, I finally moved to Tampa, Florida for a change of pace. America First Moving was incredible — honest pricing, clear communication, and hard workers. They even helped reassemble my bed and dining table.

Fraudulent bait-and-switch practices.
This company sold us on a so-called “White Glove Service,” which is exactly why we agreed to pay their much higher price — over $3,600 more than the competition. The service was specifically described to us as including: “Packing, transportation, storage, delivery, UNPACKING, and putting all items where they belong, with the exception of kitchen boxes. You won’t have to do a thing — just sit back and watch.” Delivery day came, and not a single box was unpacked. The salesman promised one thing verbally, then changed the wording in the contract so the company could hide behind technical language and keep our money. First, they claimed unpacking “wasn’t in the contract.” When I asked them to review the recorded sales call, they changed their story again and said “White Glove Service” is just an expression — not an actual service they provide. That is plain and simple fraud. To make matters worse, they offered us a $200 “good faith gesture” only if we signed a document stating that: • We received all services promised verbally and in writing • We would not dispute the charges • We would not pursue any additional complaints It felt less like customer service and more like dealing with a moving mafia. If this review helps even one or two people avoid this company and their deceptive practices, then they can keep the $200.

Careful Handling of Large Home Items
When I moved from Miami, FL to Richmond, VA, America First Moving impressed me every step of the way. They provided a clear quote upfront, showed up exactly when scheduled, and treated my 5-bedroom home like it was their own. They took extra time to secure my piano and large mirrors, and everything arrived in perfect condition. Long-distance moves are never easy, but they made mine feel effortless.
