Let me start off by saying we absolutely couldn't ask for a better less stressful service me and my wife didn't know how we were going to make this happen America first moving were very professional and understanding I assure you we had a million questions lol thanks guys we highly recommend them

America First Moving handled our four bedroom home efficiently, protected our belongings, and maintained clear communication throughout the move. Their team made a potentially stressful long distance relocation much smoother.
BEWARE !!!October 2024 I began looking for a moving company to conduct my move to Dallas. I didn’t know much about finding a company for long distance moves but I did my best to vet companies, try and ask the right questions and read reviews. Ultimately I chose Americas first moving. I felt reassured by manager Jim that they would help me, take care of my belongings, be transparent and give me fair prices. I communicated how important it was to me that there were no surprises and that I would be honest about what I was moving so that I could plan accordingly. Jim reassured me numerous times that as long as I communicated the items and they didn’t change the price would stay the same (I asked explicitly numerous times). When working with Jim he assured me that I had his direct number and for a few days after scheduling the move, I was able to directly get in contact with him. a few more months went by and it came to be right before the move and I reached out to “Jim” who assured me that he would be with me every step of the way, but upon reaching out, I was met with an automated system to talk to customer service representatives. This was a huge red flag. But I was too far from when I made my deposit to turn away. I got my questions answered by a customer service representative and a few days before the move. I was called back to confirm the items I was moving. I did decide to add a few additional items which I communicated to the representative and he informed me that these few items would cost me an additional $700. To me it did not seem like the items I was adding were equivalent to that charge, but I paid in hopes that that would be the only additional charge the day of my move. The movers came in which I came to find out that the company that I had been working with was a broker, and they would not be conducting the move. Actual movers surveyed my items and told me it would cost an additional $1000 on the lower end to complete the move. They informed me the additional $700 I paid did not go to them and it was a part of the fee of the brokerage. I communicated that the items I would be moving were the same as what I communicated to the representative and they said it doesn’t matter basically the size I was quoted for was inaccurate. I had no choice but to pay the fee as I was due to be out of my apartment and needed to make my way to Dallas. Fast forward to the delivery of my items the morning. My items were supposed to arrive another Moving Company called me and let me know that I would need to pay an additional $700 to them upon delivery because they needed to move my items from one truck to another. They informed me that the original truck would not fit at my location, which is not true because there is an empty lot that the truck would be able to turn around in and leave in. I declined and told them to keep the items as a now $1900 move has become over $4000. The company decided to deliver my items without the additional charge. However, I have never felt more scammed and bamboozled in my life. I trusted America’s first Moving to be honest and transparent about their prices and business practices and they were nothing but deceitful and predatory of someone who doesn’t know much about the Moving business. Had I known this I would’ve worked directly with Moving Company not a broker. Unfortunately now I am out of $4000 and left with multiple broken items, including glass that was packed and a specific box made for glass and labeled appropriately. If I can help anyone, please be aware of this company and please take your money anywhere else. my mom works for the police department where I’m from as an investigator and we feel very confidently that no judge would agree that these business practices are ethical. This is extremely predatory please beware.
My move from Detroit, MI to Charlotte, NC was handled extremely well. The movers were friendly, punctual, and clearly experienced with long-distance moves. Everything arrived safely and on time.
With our third baby on the way, we moved from Tampa, FL to Greenville, SC for more space. America First Moving was incredible — they packed everything carefully, labeled boxes for each room, and stayed patient despite the chaos of toddlers running around.
After accepting a promotion, I relocated from Tempe, AZ to Plano, TX. America First Moving made the experience seamless by providing consistent updates and careful handling of all items. Their attention to detail helped me settle into my new home quickly and confidently.
America First is a moving broker. They contract with local moving companies to do the actual move. The initial phone quote was $8500 (paperwork sent confirming price). Since this was my fourth quote it lined up with the other three quotes I rec'd. But, when the inventory list was done, the price went to $13,000. They did lower it to $11,587 (which was still extremely high). I had no time to change my moving company. The main person I communicated with was the driver. His command of the English language was poor. The packers could not speak or understand English. The following items were damaged or destroyed: 1) Molding on the hutch was damaged, 2) broken pictures / glass frames, 3) clothes were not hung in wardrobes, they were folded and stacked until there was no more room. Could not reach the bottom of the box and the box was too heavy for me to tip over so I could empty it. 4) wrapped candles in two sets of sheets and the red dye permanently stained and ruined the sheets, 5) salad crisper destroyed, 6) broke glass globe stand, 6) broke standing light stand, 7) sleep # mattress was not wrapped correctly so it does not operate correctly. Will cost me $290 just to have a representative to evaluate the damage. Finally, when I sent my letter, with pictures of all the damaged/broken items, they said they could compensate me $100. At that point, I knew there was no need to speak to them any further. DO NOT USE THSE PEOPLE. They are scammers!
Moving from Fort Lauderdale to Asheville, NC was a big step, but America First Moving made it feel easy. They were patient with my endless questions and took great care of my furniture and fragile boxes. Everything arrived on time and in perfect shape.
When my wife got a promotion in Kansas City, Missouri, we had to move from Sacramento, California within a few weeks. America First Moving came through when other companies couldn’t fit us in. They gave us a fair quote, stayed in constant contact, and delivered ahead of schedule. Even with such a long distance, nothing arrived damaged or missing. Their professionalism made a stressful move so much easier.
