After retiring, I moved from Ann Arbor, Michigan to Santa Fe, New Mexico. The movers were patient, respectful, and very gentle with my antiques. It felt like working with family.
I would not use this company if my life depended on it. I would rather sell everything I own then go through them again. It took over a month after pickup to get our stuff which was covered in mold and broken. Every time we called the company we were hung up on or given no answers.
I moved from my 3-bedroom home in Cape Coral to a new house in Fort Myers, and America First Moving did an excellent job from start to finish. They were punctual, professional, and handled my large furniture, TVs, and fragile decor with extra care. Everything was loaded and unloaded quickly without any damage. The team was friendly and helpful, even offering to arrange furniture exactly how I wanted. Moving felt simple thanks to them!
America First Moving handled my relocation from Jacksonville, FL to Chicago, IL perfectly. It was a 3-bedroom condo, and I was worried about my large glass table and mirrors, but everything arrived in pristine condition. The team was courteous, efficient, and made the whole experience much less stressful than I imagined.
My move from Spokane, WA to Phoenix, AZ could not have gone better. America First Moving handled every step professionally, from the initial pickup to the final delivery. The movers were punctual, respectful, and extremely careful with all of my belongings.
Only after money, will increase bid by more than $1,000.00. Shows up late by several hours or puts off till next day. Movers smelled like weed. Boxes crushed. Mentioned tip 9 times while unloading. Worst broker in business. They have snotty customer service, who doesn't care. I'm sure they get yelled at a lot, with the service they provide. Buyer be ware.
Tengis and Brandon worked hard to keep my things safe and secure. They wrapped my belongings and made sure I understood all of the paperwork. I would work with them again.
America First is a moving broker. They contract with local moving companies to do the actual move. The initial phone quote was $8500 (paperwork sent confirming price). Since this was my fourth quote it lined up with the other three quotes I rec'd. But, when the inventory list was done, the price went to $13,000. They did lower it to $11,587 (which was still extremely high). I had no time to change my moving company. The main person I communicated with was the driver. His command of the English language was poor. The packers could not speak or understand English. The following items were damaged or destroyed: 1) Molding on the hutch was damaged, 2) broken pictures / glass frames, 3) clothes were not hung in wardrobes, they were folded and stacked until there was no more room. Could not reach the bottom of the box and the box was too heavy for me to tip over so I could empty it. 4) wrapped candles in two sets of sheets and the red dye permanently stained and ruined the sheets, 5) salad crisper destroyed, 6) broke glass globe stand, 6) broke standing light stand, 7) sleep # mattress was not wrapped correctly so it does not operate correctly. Will cost me $290 just to have a representative to evaluate the damage. Finally, when I sent my letter, with pictures of all the damaged/broken items, they said they could compensate me $100. At that point, I knew there was no need to speak to them any further. DO NOT USE THSE PEOPLE. They are scammers!
This company sold us on a so-called “White Glove Service,” which is exactly why we agreed to pay their much higher price — over $3,600 more than the competition. The service was specifically described to us as including: “Packing, transportation, storage, delivery, UNPACKING, and putting all items where they belong, with the exception of kitchen boxes. You won’t have to do a thing — just sit back and watch.” Delivery day came, and not a single box was unpacked. The salesman promised one thing verbally, then changed the wording in the contract so the company could hide behind technical language and keep our money. First, they claimed unpacking “wasn’t in the contract.” When I asked them to review the recorded sales call, they changed their story again and said “White Glove Service” is just an expression — not an actual service they provide. That is plain and simple fraud. To make matters worse, they offered us a $200 “good faith gesture” only if we signed a document stating that: • We received all services promised verbally and in writing • We would not dispute the charges • We would not pursue any additional complaints It felt less like customer service and more like dealing with a moving mafia. If this review helps even one or two people avoid this company and their deceptive practices, then they can keep the $200.
Our move from Plano, Texas to Raleigh, North Carolina was tied to a promotion that came with very little notice. America First Moving stepped in and helped us coordinate everything quickly without making it feel rushed. The crew was careful with our furniture and patient when we asked questions along the way. When everything arrived, it felt like we could finally take a breath and focus on settling into our new routine.
