We moved right before Christmas from Knoxville, Tennessee to Fort Collins, Colorado for my new engineering role. America First Moving stayed on schedule despite winter weather and holiday traffic. They even helped wrap a few fragile decorations we forgot to pack.
Moving from Atlanta, GA to Raleigh, NC was a big deal for us — our first real home after years in apartments. America First Moving made it so easy. They packed up everything in one day, labeled every box, and handled our baby’s nursery furniture with care.
America First is a moving broker. They contract with local moving companies to do the actual move. The initial phone quote was $8500 (paperwork sent confirming price). Since this was my fourth quote it lined up with the other three quotes I rec'd. But, when the inventory list was done, the price went to $13,000. They did lower it to $11,587 (which was still extremely high). I had no time to change my moving company. The main person I communicated with was the driver. His command of the English language was poor. The packers could not speak or understand English. The following items were damaged or destroyed: 1) Molding on the hutch was damaged, 2) broken pictures / glass frames, 3) clothes were not hung in wardrobes, they were folded and stacked until there was no more room. Could not reach the bottom of the box and the box was too heavy for me to tip over so I could empty it. 4) wrapped candles in two sets of sheets and the red dye permanently stained and ruined the sheets, 5) salad crisper destroyed, 6) broke glass globe stand, 6) broke standing light stand, 7) sleep # mattress was not wrapped correctly so it does not operate correctly. Will cost me $290 just to have a representative to evaluate the damage. Finally, when I sent my letter, with pictures of all the damaged/broken items, they said they could compensate me $100. At that point, I knew there was no need to speak to them any further. DO NOT USE THSE PEOPLE. They are scammers!

Tengis and Brandon were terrific!! Smooth delivery and everything delivered with care. Great communication, they called the day before delivery to let me know of approximate arrival time, then again the morning of and one hour prior to arrival. Highly recommended!!

I've used Moving companies before, in the past and I've always ended up with a broken item or something missing upon delivery or movers who weren't careful loading from truck into my home. That wasn't the case with America First Moving. First, i received a quote that was lower than over 90% of other companies I've contacted for the same job. Next i was connected with a move coordinator who let me know what to expect step-by-step. Once the formalities were complete, the movers the company sent carefully and quickly packaged and loaded all items into the truck. I was moving to Florida from Vermont and i received real time updates of the drivers progress/ location, which made me feel secure during the traveling process. The driver arrived on time, my items were unloaded by their movers and they even helped me assemble a few tables and furniture. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to move from A-B with no problems or worries.
