This move was booked through Value Added Movers, and the contracted carrier that showed up (or was assigned) was Unlimited Moving and Storage. I had a confirmed pickup window, and they did not show up during that window. There was no proactive communication and no clear update. I had to chase multiple numbers myself to get any information. When they finally arrived / the move progressed, the pricing situation escalated. STIVEN took payment from me via Venmo prior to the move without providing clear written documentation explaining what the payment covered and what the binding total would be. Ultimately, the move never happened as promised. After they demanded additional money well beyond what I was quoted…$10,000, it became extremely difficult to get my belongings unloaded and returned from the truck without signing some obscure document. I requested a moment to read the paperwork I was being asked to sign to unload the truck, and STIVEN threatened that it would be ‘$500 per minute’ if I didn’t sign immediately. I had to get the cops involved because the driver threatened to leave with my things if I didn’t sign it immediately. I felt pressured and trapped in a situation that should never happen with a professional mover. I strongly recommend avoiding this company and being very cautious with brokers: verify the actual carrier, demand a binding estimate and itemized paperwork, and do not send peer-to-peer payments without full documentation. I moved into a new-build home and had appliances, boxes, and brand-new furniture to deliver. I was worried about scratches and dings, but the movers used floor protection and blankets without me even asking. They double-checked placement before leaving and helped unpack a few bigger pieces. It felt like they cared about how the home looked when they left.

From the first call I made to ask how much it would cost to the very last box being dumped at my new home, they were very professional and polite. They solved all of our problems and answered all the questions right away. Their customer service was excellent. The moving company was very careful with my things; they tried to wrap and protect fragile items in their boxes. In addition, they were hardworking and worked nonstop for a long time to finish the task on time and without any problems. Their communication kept me updated on their work throughout the process, which surprised me. These people helped me calm down when the rain suddenly started, and a power outage happened. Besides that, they tried to talk to my kids and include them in the process. The movers did everything they could to make sure the long trip from NH to IL was as easy as possible. I had lots of food and snacks, but they had temperature-controlled boxes to store them and protect them from waste. There were not too many fees associated with moving. From my point of view, the price wasn't too high. A lot of work went into meeting the movers' schedule. Well, no doubt, the movers were very careful with our things and did not break or damage any of them. Besides being nice, the movers were also very friendly with my kids. There are no doubts about hiring them again or telling my friends and family about them.
Nicholas kept asking me where each box should go instead of just setting it down. I liked that approach. It showed respect for my things and made the move feel more personal.
