Moving company in Charlotte, NC
The boxes were packed and arranged without much organization. Some labels were difficult to read, while others were missing completely. After delivery, we spent extra time figuring out which boxes belonged in each room. The packing process needed better attention to detail.
Really disappointing experience with this company. On our first estimate phone call, I walked around the house with a tape measure and gave very specific dimensions to the rep, we also provided our new street address on a wide street with a huge driveway which they looked up on Google maps and approved. I was very particular about providing specifics because I know how moving companies can tack on fees. They gave us our estimate, we agreed. Lo and behold, on the day of pick up the fees started piling on: 1) our tool box was charged a $350 bulk fee after I had already provided dimensions to the rep over the phone. We even moved it out onto the street for the movers. I’m 9 months pregnant and didn’t have the energy to fight them on it so we accepted. 2) after 2 weeks of no updates we finally hear that our truck is on the way. On Sunday afternoon the driver of the truck says that he will be arriving Monday at 8am. he needs payment 24 hours before he drops off (not what is agreed upon) or else there is a “waiting fee” to avoid this waiting fee we could go get a cashiers check at the bank but of course it is Sunday afternoon at this point. He also has deemed the house unreachable due to trees he sees on Google maps, he says that we will be charged a $500 shuttle fee for them to move our items onto a smaller truck. When I called customer service, they said in the fine print it is ultimately up to driver. We didn’t have enough time to argue with corporate before the delivery because it was Sunday evening so we just had to accept it. 3) drop off was insane. After spending an extra $850 at this point, the driver apparently says “this won’t fit” to many items. My husband had to help them carry and maneuver all the items because they kept saying things were “too heavy”. They broke and antique dresser and then left dresser drawers on the front lawn for my husband to carry up after they left. TLDR: They wait until they are in possession of your items to siphon money out of you and you have to cough it up because they are holding your entire life hostage. Gross people. Drivers are not at fault, they are definitely underpaid and following the predatory procedures of the company.
My move was delayed because the crew arrived without the proper equipment. What should have been a simple move turned into an all-day process. Very disappointing experience.
I had never experienced something so horrible. To begin with, this is a broker rather than an actual moving business. They provide the idea that they have cars and drivers, even when they don't. While your contract is moved to a new company that quickly informs you that the new, higher charges do not align with the prior agreement, your furniture is held captive.
A few pieces of furniture were not handled with the level of care I expected. Some items were moved without proper wrapping, and the crew appeared to rush through the tighter areas of the house. This made me concerned about possible damage. More careful handling would have been better.
All of the employees were approachable and did their job well. There was a lot of heavy and clunky furniture, but they carried everything like it was nothing. They didn’t do any damage which means they are true professionals.
I was disappointed with the overall service because the process was poorly organized and took longer than expected. Communication was inconsistent, making the experience unnecessarily stressful.
This company does not provide relocation services. These brokers are deliberately dishonest and misleading. They have unreliable carriers conduct the actual moving so they can escape being held accountable for anything that goes wrong with your interstate move. They told us that they would be on their way to our destination as soon as our items were picked up. This is, of course, not true. Please don't call them.
The moving crew arrived behind schedule, and there was no clear explanation for the delay. We had planned the day around the original arrival time, so this caused several problems. Loading also moved at a slow pace once they arrived. The overall start was quite frustrating.
Cannot say enough good things about them! We were worried about how our newly purchased TV, sound system, and other electronics would make it through the move, but the team brought the right tools and handled every wire and screen with precision. They labeled cables, packed remotes separately, and even asked where we wanted things reconnected on the other end. Everything showed up in immaculate condition. We’re truly grateful to them!
