The movers were kind and helpful and when they forgot a piece of furniture I contacted the office and they sent an equally awesome crew out to pick it up and deliver it. Ive moved with them 4 times and every time has been perfect!

Read More We moved from Kansas to Illinois in July 2024 using International Van Lines. Our experience with them was a nightmare. The process of estimating costs seemed designed to seriously underestimate expenses. Judging from reviews underestimates of 25% are common with the company. The costs of the move would have been tolerable were there a modicum of services provided for them which was not the case. We spent the week before the move frantically trying to contact their customer service representative to clarify the time of the pickup and what we would need to do to be prepared for it. Calls continually went to voice mail and were never returned. The move itself was a disaster. IVL appeared to subcontracted with other movers or use questionable affiliates to have the work done. The first group showed up in a rental truck from Enterprise and took our furniture to a warehouse where others reloaded it. It was eventually delivered in a nondescript truck by movers whose English was limited. The system seemed designed to encourage bad service and a lack of accountability. The results were problems that went far beyond those ordinarily encountered in moves. They disassembled a dining room table, but lost the hardware so it could not be reassembled. They lost the legs to a modern desk that we needed to have a repairman remake. They managed to break a marble table top that we thought was indestructible. They snapped coffee table in half. The lost three large boxes that were only delivered three months later and a filing cabinet that is still floating around their warehouses somewhere. Claims for damages are handled by an organization called Movingclaims.net. Before dealing with IVL you would be well advised to look up reviews of the organization at the Better Business Bureau or Reddit that will give you a good idea of the nature of the organizations you will be dealing with. It took three months from the time our meager claim was settled to get a check.

Read More NEVER NEVER HIRE IVL as a moving company. At every phase, representatives lied to me. And, worst of all, they served as a broker rather than a mover and assigned my job to a much lower rated moving company, American Knights Moving and Storage. Goods were stored by American Knights in Texas for over two months,. This is after I was promised that my goods would be moved to my new location (Delaware) by IVL and stored at an IVL facility in Delaware, providing prompt delivery once I’d moved. It occurred despite being told that IVL did not use subcontractors and was told, “Absolutely not. Only International Van Lines personnel will pack and deliver your materials.” If I’d wanted to hire the inferior moving company I was assigned to, it could have cost less. But I didn’t choose an inferior company (or so I thought). And it was inferior: One bookcase was broken beyond repair, as were numerous glass items. A valuable poster was folded in quarters rather than properly rolled or packed flat. One box was lost altogether. American Knights packers insisted on emptying all dressers. They also repacked many items that I had packed in certain baskets or containers, making it ridiculously time-consuming to get everything organized again. Delivery was by yet another company: Speedy Movers. These unpackers could not read instructions written on every box, nor follow oral directions for placement of the boxes. NEVER TRUST ANYTHING IVL SAYS and NEVER HIRE the company.

Read More After researching out-of-state moving companies for weeks, we found International Van Lines on a few websites and rated it well. I was not looking for a cheap moving quote but a moving company I could trust to finish the job in time. I was pressed for time because I started a new job and had a very specific request. The movers arrived on time, packed my three-bedroom house, and moved my stuff from Brooklyn, NY, to Dallas in a few days. The delivery of my goods was smooth. They set up all of our furniture room by room and assembled whatever they needed to. I proceeded to go through everything and confirmed that nothing was missing or damaged. I would also like to thank the staff at IVL; Michelle, Daisja, and Jason were key players in getting everything put together, and they were very pleasant to work with. I have never worked with a moving company before, but I would recommend IVL. They made things easier for our family and relieved some of our stress and worries about moving to a new state. They get a good review from me, my future business, and a recommendation.
