They quoted me 14K for my move from Colorado to Florida then showed up at the door and said 29K!!!! The lady insisted that they couldn't do a in person quote and then ... Read More They quoted me 14K for my move from Colorado to Florida then showed up at the door and said 29K!!!! The lady insisted that they couldn't do a in person quote and then intentionally listed the wrong count of boxes (told her 80, she wrote 50) and that continued through out the inventory list (said we had a bar that was 12 foot, she wrote down 6 feet max). On top of this she explained that we are self packing so the movers will wrap all the lamps and furniture, Driver said that lamps are delicate and need to be wrapped extra). Due to that, they needed to charge us for "partial packing". During the packing, we decided to let some things stay behind so we wouldn't be charged, then they packed them on accident but they were too far back to remove. This should have saved us money but again, they charged us. Not to mention they delayed the pick up date 1 day and then showed up and said that they will need 2 days (Yes we also had reservations that were lost due to this delay and more money lost) They didn't leave with our belongings until 6 days later and of course that was not conveyed or anticipated. Today I got a call from 2 people telling me they were "The Driver" - one in Miami and one at my storage unit with my stuff. When I called dispatch, they were confused so hoping I can get my belongings.

Read More Still no callback. Just received an email that led to MORE questions. My move was from Louisiana to FL and apparently they are going to take my stuff from LA to Pennsylvania (lol). My stuff has been picked up since 6 days ago and they have not yet moved ANYTHING from Louisiana. DONT FALL FOR THIS COMPANY. They over promise and once they have your money, they ghost you. DONT DO IT. Look up Reddit reviews, Yelp reviews, etc. I’m scared of the conditions my items will arrive in, based on the horrible reviews I’ve read. Also have read that they take waaaaaaay longer than promised to deliver. AVOID THIS COMPANY. As expected, got the same generic reply to my review as everyone else who was dissatisfied. They couldn’t even have the decency to address me by my name. Please read their reply below (it’s hilarious), it just shows how little they care and how they have 0 attention to detail. Very dissatisfied with the lack of communication. I called one of the individuals that first worked with me last week and have not received a call back yet (it’s been 2-3 business days since the call). Not once do they pick up the phone (in my experience) and they always make you leave a voicemail. I genuinely think that they don’t pick up the phone ever, just listen to voicemails. I have called 5 times today for 3 different people and once to the actual number on Google. I left voicemails since early this morning (and yesterday) and STILL no response. Remember, I’m still waiting for the callback from last week’s employee who had been in contact with me. Only gave 2 stars because the actual movers were EXCELLENT. Customer service is a -1000/10. It is IMPOSSIBLE to reach them through phone.

Read More one week later: It's been almost a month since the pick-up phase. I am now reaching the "hidden fees phase". 400$ added to my bill. Indeed they need to transfer my load in a smaller truck cause the semi is too big. Is it supposed to be my problem ? Why not transporting my stuff in a smaller truck right off the bat ? Who can even handle a semi truck in the first place unless you live in the desert in New Mexico.. Think about this: They gather many small loads from many customers in one big truck to maximize the benefits and lower the cost, even though it could mean for you to have to wait a month... Anyway so far so good, it's business and it makes sense ! Then when it's time for delivery, they tell you the day before, that they need a smaller truck to access your location and of course it costs 400$ or more, added to your contract so you can't even dispute it, back against the wall. Business wise, it's very clever. Ethic wise.... disgusting. They were supposed to let me know in advance about the delivery date. Instead they just called me to tell me the delivery is happening tomorrow, which is not enough notice when like me you also need to synchronize with your condo association on specific time windows... They got you in the long run. I am so personally so tired of the situation I'm about to accept anything from them as I'm now scared for my stuff to be damaged or lost or whatever. Although I'm grateful they answered this review with a nice automated message starting with "Hello {Reviewer first name}," Even their customer satisfaction bot is a failure... To be continued... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Putting 5 stars cause they said they will lose money because of my review. They are right and I am wrong. Contract says 21 business days after the preferred drop off date. Shame on me. Who needs their stuff ASAP after moving out of state ? Of course we can all wait for weeks if not months to eventually get back the furniture and clothing that makes us human beings. => Only they don’t mention that when they throw half a pound of paper at you. Papers you have to read and sign while there’re already almost done packing your stuff. They also don’t mention that they will serve as broker because your load is not big enough for them to handle with professionalism and seriousness. So when you think you’re dealing with the number one company rated by Forbes… you’re actually at the mercy of random third party companies. But you’ll still pay the price of premium services by the number one ! IVL of course! Don’t be surprised having to wait for 21 business days after you give them the best day you’d move to be delivered… Oh and btw: if you have living plants. Donate them to friends of yours. They don’t take it. It’s forbidden by law. I wish they would’ve told me before the very day they came pickup my stuff which lead me to throw my plants away. You’d think « long distance movers » sounds like a good fit for moving your stuff long distances. Well.. for people like me it feels like you’re asking « small distance movers » to make the greatest effort of their lives. I am in tech, system engineering, if you pay for my services because you have a problem with one of your servers or applications. I won’t clean your pool or fix your car. I’ll do what you paid me for and fix your issue. Almost feels like going to a car dealership but there’s only tractors for sale. —————- first review—————- I have no words.. i legit disgust myself having gone thru them. I don’t know. This is the worst service I paid for in my whole life. This is just terrible. Who needs a mover company that doesn’t deliver your stuff 2 weeks after pickup. And as of today… beside knowing that there was an issue with a truck in Maryland.. I still don’t have any visibility. I genuinely think I got scammed at that point. Do yourself a favor, Go thru a smaller company.

Terrible moving company, do not use them. We got 3 quotes, they came out the cheapest by $2k. BUT they have since nickel and dimed us 3x, asking for more money for things ... Read More Terrible moving company, do not use them. We got 3 quotes, they came out the cheapest by $2k. BUT they have since nickel and dimed us 3x, asking for more money for things we talked about during initial discussion, yet somehow did not make it into the initial quote. And then asked for an extra $1600 at the time of pick up because apparently they messed up their estimate about amount of stuff. We have now paid more than any of our other quotes. AND they’ve had our stuff for 4 days so far, have given NO estimate or info about when it will be delivered, even though we were promised to receive an estimate at the time of pick up. This is a trash company. They only reason they deserve 1 star and not 0 is because the packing guys did a good job.

After researching out-of-state moving companies for weeks, we found International Van Lines on a few websites and rated it well. I was not looking for a cheap moving quot ... Read More After researching out-of-state moving companies for weeks, we found International Van Lines on a few websites and rated it well. I was not looking for a cheap moving quote but a moving company I could trust to finish the job in time. I was pressed for time because I started a new job and had a very specific request. The movers arrived on time, packed my three-bedroom house, and moved my stuff from Brooklyn, NY, to Dallas in a few days. The delivery of my goods was smooth. They set up all of our furniture room by room and assembled whatever they needed to. I proceeded to go through everything and confirmed that nothing was missing or damaged. I would also like to thank the staff at IVL; Michelle, Daisja, and Jason were key players in getting everything put together, and they were very pleasant to work with. I have never worked with a moving company before, but I would recommend IVL. They made things easier for our family and relieved some of our stress and worries about moving to a new state. They get a good review from me, my future business, and a recommendation.

Read More Don't buy the reviews on Forbes or any publication- look at Yelp. I used them for a move from Dallas to NYC and it was a disaster. Impossible to get in touch and coordinate once you pay a deposit. I have over $2k of damaged or missing items. The delivery guy held my items hostage- he wouldn't unload a truck until I signed a form saying everything was delivered. So now my claims for damaged / missing items aren't valid. This is a sham of a company.
