Read More Scheduling the move with Great American was not a problem and the communication was good. But I didn't like the change in the cost once we finished. It was horrible. I talked to the guy at the end of it and he wanted to charge me triple what the quote was. And he said it was because of the materials they used. So, it seemed like he was trying to steal from me. I was pissed and I'll never use them again.

When I began to worry that I wouldn't be able to do everything on time, he just said, “Relax, we are here to help. We will get this done” and I felt like I wasn't alone on this journey. The team went above and above by transporting some of my stuff to a storage facility when they realized I wouldn't be able to fit them all in my new house. Recommended!

Nothing was too much trouble and their attitude was brilliant. The following day they were finished, allowing us to rebuild our new office. I had been trying to find a reputable moving company and I found this one. We discussed pricing and dates for the move. I told the woman how skeptical I was as there are ... Read More I had been trying to find a reputable moving company and I found this one. We discussed pricing and dates for the move. I told the woman how skeptical I was as there are a lot of scams out there. She explained things and was earning my trust. After discussing what to do with my boyfriend she called back and I told her I thought I might just have to go with the cargo van I had reserved. She then proceeds to tell me that those vans are only for local and I wouldn't be able to take one out of state. I got upset and told her I knew that wasn't true as I had already reserved the pickup and drop off for this van. I tried to tell her that lying to convince me I needed to pay a deposit and reserve her service was just going to make people not trust them and that is when she said she was putting me on the do not call list and hung up. Even if I call the 800 number for great American moving I get a message saying you have been put on the do not call list. So even if I talked my boyfriend into using them I couldn't reach them if I wanted to.

Contrary to our request for a 26 foot truck, which the company assured us would hold our belongings and was all our storage facility at our final destination could accomm ... Read More Contrary to our request for a 26 foot truck, which the company assured us would hold our belongings and was all our storage facility at our final destination could accommodate, they sent a 52' semi. That made us scramble at our final destination to find another storage facility that could accomodate a semi, causing us to lose the $200.00 we had paid to rent the storage unit. As it turned out, the quantity of belongings we had would not have all fit in a 26' and fortunately we were able to secure an alternative storage facility that would accommodate the semi. The workers assigned to our move, however, were friendly, courteous, jovial and hard-working. Had it not been for the above mentioned aggravation and some irreparable damage, this would have been a 5 star review.
