Moving company in Skokie, IL
Had to have a quick move and they came and packed and moved everything in no time. Extremely good workers. Amazing speed.
I am only giving this 2 stars because the movers and pre-move staff were nice people. The movers were polite and respectful throughout the process. Our project ended up taking two days, not one for an in town move, which was exhausting and very inconvenient. Two days, means double the cost, double the tip, etc… Two pricey items were damaged during the move and instead of doing the right thing and attempting to repair or offering to pay for the repair, we were forced through the insane process of paperwork, providing purchase receipts for our own property, etc.., only to get $5-10 bucks back for something that would likely be $200+. It’s clear the process is meant so that no claim for damages would ever be submitted, it’s such a pain. I would never use this company again and I have told friends and family not to use them as well.
Communication was never a problem. I feel they had affordable rates. I’m happy with how the entire move went. I feel they were a good company to use.
Highly Highly recommend Golan's for any size move. Great customer service and excellent moving crews. The whole process and everyone I dealt with were very professional. They flawlessly hoisted 2 large sofas through my second floor window. And pricing very fair.
Golan’s recently came recommended by a close friend, I can see why. They were all polite and hard-working. They showed up with a fairly large truck, got everything loaded within a reasonable time frame. They had good prices and were very professional with the move.
They had great prices, reliable moving service. I’m happy with both the final cost and the work they did. Thanks. very smoothly and tension-free.
Their agent was very responsive and knowledgeable in setting up our local move. We, in turn, were very definite about what went where and by when and the on-site crew delivered!
The office was helpful and accommodating to our schedule. The guys were quick and careful. Im calling them back for any future moves.
Worst moving company in existence. Movers caused damage to my couch. Lead man on the move was very aggressive and spent most of the move yelling at the other movers. There was a language barrier and he was not able to explain any of the moving papers to me. He was also adamant on not bringing my couch through the back staircase, even though his other movers had told me it would be possible to do but would take a little longer. Lead man was too focused on rushing the move to care about doing the job properly. Once I called the office to let them know of the situation, I was told that the lead man “knew what was best” and was practically gaslit about the situation. Before leaving, the lead man asked me to sign a blank sheet of paper acknowledging that I was okay with the damages done. I did not sign but later called and was told he had my signature acknowledging the damage. Absolutely horrible experience, I would much rather throw away all of my belongings before ever using Golan’s again.
I'm blown away! This firm made a tough situation more bearable - and that's saying a lot. They completely gave me rest and managed all the packing and loading process. They started work from the kitchen and then packed the whole room individually by making cartons with proper labels. Well done, folks.
