Terrible communication on important matters
Charter Van Lines misrepresented itself as a moving company but acted as a broker, outsourcing my household move to StreamLine and my vehicle transport to an unknown private company without notifying me. Their lack of communication could have caused significant confusion and frustration. Charter Van Lines created two documents: one for my household items and another for my vehicle. I indicated in both that I would only be available until August 20th. Despite this, they failed to coordinate between the two services, leaving me in a ridiculous situation where they expected me to be available for my car after the 20th, which directly contradicted the information in the documents. This oversight shows a complete lack of attention to detail. Charter Van Lines contacted me at the last minute on a Sunday with minimal payment options for my household items. Thankfully, the driver accepted a Walmart money order, but this was the only smooth part. I had already paid $200 upfront but still needed to receive communication regarding my vehicle. After learning their truck had broken down, I had to scramble to book another company. Only after I secured a new service did a different driver show up unannounced, forcing me to cancel the backup plan. Despite clearly stating I would not be available after August 20th, Charter Van Lines ignored this crucial information and even accused me of lying. Because of their incompetence, I had to rely on friends to receive my car. On top of that, my household goods were delayed, and Charter Van Lines tried to justify it with their 10-day delivery window. However, the company handling the actual move, StreamLine, was professional and helpful, unlike the unprofessional behavior of Charter Van Lines. Charter Van Lines is unreliable, deceptive, and fails miserably at communication. They pass work to third-party companies without informing customers and then try to cover it up. Their reviews appear suspiciously polarized, with primarily 5-star and 1-star ratings, raising questions about their authenticity. If you're looking for a reliable moving service, avoid Charter Van Lines at all costs.

Bad Service.
I call customer service representative because when they came to pick up my merchandise they want to charge me more the representative didn't help me at all or work with me i told her i didn't want to speak with her i want to speak with someone else she hung up on me 4 times.i ask for my deposit back they said no.

Worst move ever.
I just received a call from Charter Van Lines after submitting information for a quote and the representative was forceful, became upset and hung up on me because I asked if I could compare moving prices with other companies. Before hanging up he goes, "I don't even know why you're on the phone with a moving company right now." Very unprofessional!!!

DO NOT USE
Zero stars. The lack of the communication doesn't even begin to express the difficulties I experienced with this company. Then, when they finally showed up, the mover quoted me $75 per step of my 2 story apartment. Then said "pay me $200 cash and it's fine." There were multiple instances that he tried to get more cash for reasons like above. Once my belongings were loaded up, I could not get in contact with anyone regarding the delivery date. My furniture and belongings were a month late to arrive and after many attempts to communicate with the company, never received a delivery date. After many attempts, I received my storage, the boxes were soaking wet and so crushed I had broken glassware that I marked at fragile. I will 100% use another company moving forward. Whatever this company quotes or promotes is not worth the headache

A disastrous move: lost thousands of dollars
Would have given a fraction of a star if i could.I have used national moving companies before. None were remotely as bad as this company. They contracted the job to third party who i believed used other operators. 80% + of my stuff were severely damaged, damaged, lost. It was bad does not remotely describe how awful it was. My OLED tv screen was cracked. My glasswares, vases were shattered. My delicate lab equipments were severely damaged. Parts of my spanish furniture were missing. I can go on and on and on. I suffered thousands of dollars in damage. DID NOT RECEIVE A SINGLE CENT . DO NOT ABSOLUTELY USE THIS COMPANY. THEIR PROMISE OF WHITE GLOVE TREATMENT WAS A CRUEL JOKE.

Best Service Provider!!
I will refer anyone I know who will be moving. These movers were excellent from beginning to end. They were meticulous with our possessions and worked well together. I heartily endorse them for service at a budget-friendly price!

Moving Made Easy
Even though moving can be hard, Charter Van Lines made it a lot easier. Their customer service was quick to fix problems, and the movers were trustworthy and knew what they were doing. If you're moving across the country, I think this company is great.

Proficient Movers
John kept me in the loop the entire time. He called me before the move to confirm the details and give me an estimate. Donald texted me during the move to update me on the progress and let me know if there were any issues. He also followed up with me after the move to make sure I was satisfied and to thank me for choosing Charter Van Lines. The move was a breeze, no drama, and if I had any questions, Michael was always there to holla at.

Excellent Bargain
My dressers, side tables and desks were delivered without a hitch to me. The drawers were detachable, so the movers got them out, emptied and wrapped them with packing sheets. Next to protect the surface and legs from scratches, they encased them in furniture blankets. I also saw how careful they were while carrying them. I was a happy man to see my things arrive in good shape!

AVOID AT ALL COST!
My experience with this company started out pretty good. They got my reservation set up quickly with Patrick and they answered any questions that I had. However, I canceled my move on the 1st of July about 3 days after I reserved it. After about a month of waiting and not seeing a refund I called them to inquire about the status of my refund and they stated that they didn't know that I wanted a refund. So then on the 30th of August they finally emailed confirming that they would refund me. However, after a week of again waiting for a refund I still had not seen anything, so I called them back. They said that the refund had been issued and that it should show up in my account within a week. Again I wait another week and I still do not see the refund. This continues for three weeks until finally they offer to just mail me a check for the refund. I gave them my address to mail it to on September 18th and again waited until the 1st of October. When I still haven't received it I called back to check on the status and they told Mee ghat they had never mailed the check for the refund when they said that they had. When I asked how to receive my refund or when I asked to be transfered to a manager they would place me on a hold and leave meon hold until I hung up. This happened multiple times. They still have not given me any way to resolve the issue duspite me sending multiple emails and calling for several weeks. I am not very happy regarding the service that I received from this company. Deffinetly wouldnt recomend using them to anyone after having this experience.
