Read More They misplaced 12 items on our move. Now 1 month later they seem to have found some of them and still have not delivered them. They, as is their practice, are falling back on their overflow shipment clause to not pay anything for their inability to do what they were contracted to do. In addition, they destroyed a large number of valuable antiques after we paid for "safe storage" for a couple of years , as we got stuck in the Covid building delays on our new house. Now we are getting the runaround on our claims. So, if you want to get you stuff delivered when your mover is contracted to and you don't want your antiques delivered as a pile of kindling then do not use Suddeth/United.

Read More I had United Van Lines contracted for a move from my homestead Texas to Georgia. My belongings were put into storage while I looked for a home in Ga. When the day came for delivery of my things none of the items that were in my barn in Texas arrived. I was also missing a few items from inside of the house. And my wife heirloom baby grand piano and antique rocking horse were damaged. In total there was about $10,000 in missing/damaged items. When I filed the claim for these items they issued me a check for less than $500... Less than 5% of what they lost/damaged.

For anyone using these moving companies, their using laborers off Craigslist to help move your belongings. They don't know those guys from a can of paint. They offer them ... They offer them low wages so they can pocket the rest. I'm very disappointed in finding this out. If you want to be charged alot of money then have your things smashed packed on a truck then moved by some local addict then UVL is your place . Just an whistle-blower. P.S alot of these reviews are being paid out by companies to be able to have a good rating so buyer's beware

Driver demanded crating a TV That was not necessary and 3rd party had to cone back out which was an added charge.

Read More I was moving from Connecticut to Florida and hired United van lines. They broke an exercise peddler I had, and more importantly lost 3 heirloom pictures that I had asked them to pack for me, so that they would arrive safely and with special care. Not only did they not arrive safely, they did not arrive at all! I was never given an inventory sheet to match up each item with its number, so it was impossible to ascertain that the items had not arrived until after the movers left. When they arrived, they said their van was too big to enter the park where I lived, so they made several trips loading up a car and then unloading it at my house. After I realized the pictures were missing, I received a run around of various departments to call after a variety of time lines. I still have not received my heirloom pictures that were painted over 100 years ago by a relative of mine. They are the most disorganized, incompetent company I have ever dealt with! RUN, don't walk away from using them for your moving needs! If I could give less than a 1 star rating, I would!

And she was speeding well over the posted speed limit. I wouldn't want them hauling my furniture any where!!!

Read More Do not agree to their “tariff - UMT1”. Ask to read it and pay particular attention to the part that states if they create an “overflow shipment” situation, they can be any length of time beyond their delivery window and not have to pay you anything if you file a delay claim. The bad part about this “tariff” is that they are in total control of the logistics of a move and can show up at your move with an almost full van and then tell you that you have an “overflow” (due to their poor planning) and then take advantage of their ability to not be contractually obligated to their delivery date obligation. If I can warn anyone not to hire United this will at least be the consolation that I get for them being collusive.`

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE...I have had several corporate relocations, and personal and NEVER had my belongings kept in the original destination place for going on 3 weeks. We are couch surfing and staying in hotels at 60 years old and they will not compensate. This move was very expensive, over $12,000, and is costing me more each day.
